Sillon Beach, the must-see in Saint-Malo
Big and beautiful. Le Sillon is THE most famous beach in Saint-Malo. A 3 km stretch of fine sand, bordered by its famous wooden breakwaters, its beautiful Belle Époque villas and its kite flying spots. Ideal for sunset walks with your feet in the water or for families at low tide.
Bonus: only a few steps away from Grand Hotel de Courtoisville, perfect to go after a good breakfast.
Bon-Secours beach, the postcard spirit
Nestled just behind the ramparts within the city walls, Bon-Secours Beach is a charming local pearl.
Its seawater pool built in the 1930s (and still in use) and its diving board will delight lovers of soft sensations, children and adults alike.
Here, you are facing Grand Bé Island, where Chateaubriand rests. Breathtaking view, lively atmosphere, and a stone's throw from the cobbled streets of Saint-Malo.
La Varde beach, between nature and tranquility
Direction the north of the city, towards Pointe de la Varde. Leave the hustle and bustle and discover a wilder beach here, with its small dunes, wooden cranes, and breathtaking views of the sea.
It is the perfect place for a picnic break between two hikes. Unfrequented, it is also appreciated by locals for its tranquility and its “wild coast” atmosphere. A stone's throw away: an old blockhouse testifies to the military past of the area.
Fort de la Varde cove, the most confidential
It is our favorite for adventure lovers. The Fort de la Varde cove is difficult to access, buried between the rocks, almost secret. But once there: crystal clear water, total silence, and the impression of having discovered a Breton Caribbean beach (with a few degrees lower...).
You can only reach it on foot, with good shoes. No service, no crowds: only you, the spray, and the song of the gulls.
Nicet beach, the hidden cove with crazy charm
It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Saint-Malo, and yet it remains a well-kept secret. Nestled in the hollow of a cliff, between Val Beach and La Varde Beach, Nicet Beach is sheltered from the wind and offers an intimate setting.
Take the narrow, steep stairs. At high tide, it becomes tiny, so choose the moment carefully. Parking is almost non-existent: here, you have to earn your towel. But what a reward!
Clear water, unobstructed views, romantic cove... it is the perfect place to cut yourself off from the world, a stone's throw from Saint-Malo.
The beach of Môle, calm and protected
Discreet and protected from the wind, Môle beach is hidden behind the south-western bastion of the city's inner city. Little known to tourists and appreciated by Falklands, it is ideal for sheltered sunbathing, with a splendid view of the commercial port and the islets.
It is also a popular spot for photographers for the light at the end of the day. A small haven of peace with a magnificent view of the city of Dinard.
Val beach, emerald color
Located in the Rothéneuf district, Val Beach is a nice surprise. Surrounded by rocks forming a cove, this small, sheltered and family-friendly bay offers an unobstructed view of the sea and the islands. At low tide, children go hunting for crabs and shells. And depending on the daylight, the water is tinged with the iconic color that gave the Emerald Coast its nickname.
